Red & Black is a Caltech C community directory. Anyone can read it; an email link to an @caltech.edu mailbox is required to contribute. Share first-hand experiences respectfully. Do not publish private contact details, impersonate others, or post spam. Moderators can hide content and suspend accounts.

We store your email, public display name, contributions, votes and session records. Your email is private; your display name and contributions are public. Email is used to send sign-in links through our mail provider. A necessary HttpOnly cookie keeps you signed in for seven days; signing out revokes it.

Google Maps provides place search. Your place-search text is sent to Google through our server; we do not send your email, comments or votes to Google for this feature. We retain the Google Place ID to link to the map and prevent duplicates. Search suggestions are shown temporarily, not saved as our directory data. Place names and reviews in the directory are contributed by members.

Use of the Google Maps features is subject to Google Maps / Google Earth Additional Terms of Service. Google handles data as described in its Privacy Policy。
